Perfume vs Body spray

Difference | perfume vs body spray

There is often some confusion surrounding body sprays and perfumes – on the surface they do the same job, they make you smell great and leave a lasting impression. Although they both smell amazing, they are not actually the same thing. It’s time to find out what the differences are and when you should be using them.

Body spray, sometimes called body mist, is mainly water or alcohol mixed with a small amount of fragrance oil which gives it a much lighter, more subtle scent than perfume. Perfume, on the other hand, is made up of a higher concentration of fragrance oils mixed with water or alcohol. This gives perfume a bolder, richer vibe than body spray.

WHEN SHOULD I WEAR BODY SPRAY OR PERFUME?

You probably find yourself wondering when exactly you should wear a specific fragrance over another? Since body spray is a lighter fragrance, lasting for a shorter period of time than perfume, we would recommend using a body spray if you are seeing a friend for a quick coffee or just popping out to the shops.

If you are going to a party or doing something all day, such as going to work, then you should wear perfume. This is due to the deeper, longer lasting, multifaceted nature of its scent.

However, here at The Perfume Shop we believe that rules are meant to be broken – wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and whatever puts that spring back into your step, no matter the occasion.
